In 1949 Ray Gariepy purchased an existing Block Plant in Barrie, Ontario. He grew the Block Plant to a full assembly line and manfacturing plant. If you take a drive past our Masonry Center on 207 Tiffin St. you will see the original Block Plant sign, that’s still standing proud. The Block Plant eventually grew to become a full Masonry Centre. We eventually out grew the demand of the consumer and the fast growing community of Barrie. Ray then opened Simcoe Building Centre in 1991 and began offering building supplies. Today Simcoe Building Centre has grown to 2 locations, and 3 Masonry Centres.
Simcoe Building Centres and Simcoe Masonry Centres are proud to be serving Barrie and the surrounding area for the past 62 years. We have always been family owned and operated, and we are proud to say that even today Simcoe Building Centre and Masonry Centres are still in the family.
As we grow Simcoe Building Centre has been part of some of the most influential and leading edge projects across Ontario. In an effort to support our local community, Simcoe has done some incredible work with Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, as they expand to build their new Cancer Centre. Additionally we have worked on The New Orillia OPP headquarters, The Waterloo Courthouse and St. Josephs Hospital in Hamilton. We are growing as you grow your families and communities, and we are proud to be serving Northern, Central and Eastern Ontario.
